ZJ Boarding House will host its 8th annual Haunted Heats costumed surf contest this Saturday morning as part of its Halloween celebrations.
Organizers say they have spots open for participation or locals can just watch the madness from the sand.
The day has become one of Southern California’s best costume surf contests, featuring all ages of competitors in some of the most creative get ups you’ll see.
It will take place at Santa Monica Beach Tower 26, which is near the end of Ocean Park Blvd.
It will kick off around 8 am and continue until lunch time. ZJ Boarding House will be raffling off surfboards during the event in support of Boarding for Breast Cancer (raffle tickets $10 each).
