Santa Monica Mayor Ted Winterer to be Featured Speaker at April 17 Activist Support Circle

Santa Monica Mayor Ted Winterer will be the featured speaker at the monthly public gathering of the Activist Support Circle on Monday, April 17 starting 6:00pm at the UnUrban Coffee House located at 3301 Pico Blvd., Santa Monica 90405.
 
Mr. Winterer was elected to the City Council in 2012 and was unanimously appointed Mayor in December, 2016. He has resided in Santa Monica for nearly 25 years and has been a dedicated community leader and activist. Before being elected to the City Council, he served on the Santa Monica Recreation and Parks Commission as well as the Santa Monica Planning Commission.
 
At the informal event, Mr. Winterer will speak about his involvement with the community as well as his role as Mayor and the challenges and opportunities now facing Santa Monica’s future. The talk will be followed by Q and A from event attendees.
 
The event is free and there is free parking at the U.S. Bank parking lot across the street from the UnUrban.
 
The Activist Support Circle is an ongoing open monthly support group for progressive activists that started in February, 2005 to help guard against activist burnout and to offer emotional support to activists in their vital and courageous work.
