Swimmer Goes Missing Near Santa Monica Pier

Lifeguards search for swimmer Wednesday night

A swimmer went missing near the Santa Monica Pier Wednesday night.

As reported by CBS 2, authorities were notified of the missing swimmer around 10 p.m. Wednesday night. The station says a fried reported the swimmer missing to a lifeguard tower near the Santa Monica Pier.

A Los Angeles County Fire Department helicopter and County lifeguards were actively searching for the swimmer Wednesday night.

No further details are immediately available. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
