Sadly, Uplifter’s Kitchen, a health conscious vegetarian and vegan friendly cafe that dared to open during the pandemic, is closing as reported on their Instagram page. After 15 months, the cafe at 2819 Ocean Park Blvd ceased service as of Saturday, Oct. 16. The owner, Salima Saunders said, “I want to thank you for all your support over the last 15 months and for coming in day after day to get your coffee, gluten free almond cake, pastries, breakfast, and lunch. I could not have realized my dream of being a cafe owner without you! We took a risk to open during a pandemic and I am grateful that you trusted me and my team to serve you during this time. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I hope to run into you by the Santa Monica pier surfing soon!”
