Library reopens for in-person services and more
By Sam Catanzaro
The Santa Monica Public Library’s Pico Branch reopens today for in-person services.
The December 1 reopening will include both in-person services and programming.
“The Santa Monica Public Library is a vibrant space for learning, enrichment, and connections. We couldn’t be more thrilled to reopen our beloved branch in the Pico neighborhood and welcome our patrons back inside the facility,” said Interim Library Director Erica Cuyugan. “Our team is focused on activating services to meet community needs. It has been heartwarming to see our youth and families come back for safe, in-person programs.”
According to the City of Santa Monica, the reopened branch will include access to adult and youth collections, pick up for library holds, up to 30 minutes of computer time and study rooms. In addition, there will be limited in-person programming and story time for children and families.
The Pico Branch hours will be Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and the first Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Thursdays 2 p.m. – 8 p.m.
In addition to the Pico Branch, patrons can visit the Main Library for in-person service, the Ocean Park Branch for self-service and the Montana Branch for curbside service. The Fairview Branch remains temporarily closed.
