Kevin Bludso’s New Barbecue Location Will Be 1.5 Miles Away From the Pier.

Kevin Bludso, a well-known LA pitmaster who appeared on the Netflix series The American Barbecue Showdown, is growing barbecue operations to Santa Monica this summer.
A new Bludso’s BBQ location will open about 1.5 miles from the Santa Monica Pier at 1329 Santa Monica Boulevard this June. The restaurant’s menu will reportedly be similar to that of its La Brea spot, in addition to new items such as smoked turkey breast and a smoked bone-in ribeye. A full bar will also offer beer and wine options.
Born in Compton, Bludso opened Bludso’s BBQ in 2008 as a small takeout stand in his hometown. Now, the restaurant is a global sensation. Its locations include Bludso’s Bar & Que in Hollywood, a concession stand at the LAFC Soccer Stadium and San Antone by Bludso’s BBQ in the Australia-based Crown Casino.
Bludso appeared on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives alongside Guy Ferrieri around a decade ago. He also made appearances on Bong Appetit and Bar Rescue. He is a two-time winner of the Steve Harvey Hoodie Award. Last year, his first cookbook, The Bludso Family Cookbook: BBQ Soul Food and Family, From Compton to Corsicana, was released.
