The four-day fair will feature contemporary art, immersive installations, live performances and interactive activities

The Other Art Fair, presented by Saatchi Art, will return to Los Angeles for its largest edition to date, bringing 150 independent artists from around the world to the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica.

The four-day fair runs Sept. 25–28 and will feature contemporary art, immersive installations, live performances and interactive activities aimed at making art collecting more accessible. Works will be priced from under $200 to $2,000.

“This year’s Los Angeles edition is our biggest yet,” said Nicole Garton, global fair director. “We’re thrilled to bring together such a diverse group of artists and engaging programs for collectors and first-time visitors alike.”

As with previous editions, artists were selected by a panel of curators, including Terrell Tilford of Band of Vices, Daisha Board of the Daisha Board Gallery, Saatchi Art’s Erin Remington and Garton.

New to this year’s programming is The Dread Spa, a series of restorative experiences including a sound bath by Allison Bagg, oracle readings, aura portraits and an 18th-century Paris-inspired art salon featuring one-of-a-kind objects and tea leaf readings.

The fair will also honor Los Angeles-based artist Kipkemoi with its New Futures Award, offering the German-Kenyan self-taught painter a complimentary exhibition booth to debut new work. Kipkemoi’s art explores themes of belonging and identity through bold color palettes and monochromatic portraiture.

Other highlights include nightly performances — from DJ Phatrick and KCRW’s Dan Wilcox to Mariachi Tierra Mía — as well as family-friendly programming such as a collaborative mural, scavenger hunts and kids’ art activities.

Food and drink options will include Thai Mex Cocina, Word of Mouth vegan comfort food, LA LA Lasagna and Arrvo Coffee. Guests over 21 can also sample whisky from Texas-based Balcones Distilling, part of the fair’s ongoing creative partnership with the distillery.

The Other Art Fair opens Sept. 25 with an evening preview, followed by public hours Sept. 26–28. Tickets start at $20 in advance, with premium experiences available. More details are at theotherartfair.com/la.
