The event will offer a morning run and walk, a yoga session, a chance to meet trained therapy animals, and more
The Santa Monica Pier will wrap up its Wellness & Waves series with a free event on Saturday, Oct. 11, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., featuring exercise classes, therapy animals, and family-friendly activities in partnership with UCLA Health.
Held at the iconic pier, the event, dubbed a “UCLA Health Takeover,” will offer a morning run and walk along the coast led by UCLA Recreation instructors Mandy Muenzer and Jacinta Elijah, as well as a yoga session guided by Tiffany Caronia and Jess Ray. Visitors can meet trained therapy animals from UCLA Health’s People Animal Connection program at the pier’s West End, overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
Attendees can enjoy free rides on the historic Merry-Go-Round, a complimentary arcade game at Playland Arcade, and a basketball contest for UCLA Health guests, with sign-ups available online. Pacific Park will offer 20% off unlimited ride wristbands, with two rides opening early at 10 a.m. Refreshments from the Google Store will be provided for yoga participants, alongside discounts and gifts from adidas and Pause Studio.
The Wellness & Waves series, which began earlier this year, drew nearly 3,000 participants for free yoga, fitness classes, and health screenings. Organizers announced the program will return in April 2026 for another 26 weeks.
Parking is available at the pier and nearby lots, with public transit options encouraged due to limited spaces. The event is open to all, with no registration required.
