Woman Arrested After Body Found in Vehicle in South LA

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed one count of murder

A 52-year-old Los Angeles woman was arrested on murder charges after police discovered a deceased person in the trunk of a vehicle during a missing person investigation, authorities said.

On Sept. 9, detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Missing Persons Unit were following up at a tow yard in the 1900 block of West Gage Avenue in South Los Angeles when they found the body. The investigation was then handed over to the Robbery-Homicide Division’s Homicide Special Section.

On Sept. 16, police served search warrants at multiple locations tied to the case and arrested Sandra Romo Diaz on suspicion of murder. She was booked into a Los Angeles Police Department jail facility.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Organized Crime Division, filed one count of murder against Diaz on Sept. 18.
