Texas-style breakfast taco chain to open ninth spot in Santa Monica; first 50 guests get free tacos for a week
HomeState, the Southern California chain specializing in Texas-style breakfast tacos, will open its ninth location next month at 720 Wilshire Blvd. in Santa Monica.
The 3,050-square-foot space, formerly occupied by Fresh Corn Grill, will include a new kitchen and large outdoor patio. It will operate daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., serving staples like the Trinity breakfast taco with eggs, bacon, potato and cheddar for $5, and brisket tacos starting at $6. House-made flour tortillas, queso and migas will also be available, alongside coffee, margaritas and non-alcoholic drinks.
Founder and CEO Briana Valdez, a Texas native who launched the brand in 2013, said the expansion continues her goal of bringing Texas hospitality to California. The chain already has eight locations, including Hollywood, Pasadena and Culver City, with another planned for El Segundo in early 2026.
On opening day, the first 50 customers will receive a wristband for free tacos with a guest every day for one week. A grand opening date has not been set.
