Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier will celebrate Valentine’s Day with “Love Lights the Pier,” a two-week event featuring music, themed photo opportunities and nightly light displays on the park’s iconic Ferris wheel.

The Valentine’s celebration will run from Feb. 1 through Feb. 15 and is open to couples, families and visitors of all ages. The beachfront amusement park will feature live DJ music, heart-themed décor and special lighting effects designed to create a romantic oceanfront atmosphere.

From Feb. 1–15, guests can also take part in Valentine’s-themed souvenir photo experiences while riding the Pacific Wheel or using the park’s photo booths. A large flower-covered heart bench will be installed near Inkie’s Scrambler ride, offering an additional photo opportunity.

Beginning Feb. 9 and continuing through Feb. 15, the Pacific Wheel will be illuminated nightly with more than 174,000 LED lights in red, pink and white. The display will feature animated hearts, romantic messages and love-themed imagery visible along the Santa Monica coastline.

“‘Love Lights the Pier’ is a joyful celebration that brings together romance, fun and unforgettable experiences for all ages,” said Nathan Smithson, senior director of business affairs at Pacific Park. “At the center of it all is the nine-story-tall Pacific Wheel, offering sweeping ocean views and a unique way to celebrate Valentine’s Day.”

The Pacific Wheel has received national recognition as a romantic destination, including mentions by USA Today, Westways magazine and Discover Los Angeles.
