Bob Reynolds, Carl Allen and Theo Saunders headline three-concert lineup.
Santa Monica College will open its Spring 2026 Friday Night Jazz Series on March 6, featuring three concerts by nationally and internationally recognized jazz musicians.
The series, presented by the college’s Music Department, will begin with saxophonist Bob Reynolds on March 6, followed by drummer Carl Allen on April 3 and pianist and composer Theo Saunders on May 1.
All performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. in the Music Hall at the SMC Performing Arts Center, 1310 11th St., at Santa Monica Boulevard.
Reynolds, known for his work with the Grammy-winning ensemble Snarky Puppy and singer-songwriter John Mayer, has also performed as a featured soloist with instrumentalists including Larry Carlton, Chris Botti and Jeff Lorber. His pop collaborations include work with Michael Bublé, Idina Menzel, Josh Groban, The 1975 and Usher.
Allen, a drummer with more than 200 recordings, has performed with artists such as Freddie Hubbard, Michael Brecker, Benny Golson, Rickie Lee Jones and Sammy Davis Jr., among many others across the jazz genre.
Saunders has been active on the international jazz scene for more than five decades. Over his career, he has performed and recorded with artists ranging from Slam Stewart to Carla Bley, and has also worked in Latin jazz, R&B, funk, musical theater, dance and opera.
Tickets are $10 for general admission, plus a service charge, and are free for students with a valid student ID.
