Carl Allen, a world-renowned jazz musician with more than 200 recordings, has performed with a wide range of artists, including Sammy Davis Jr. and Herbie Hancock.
The Santa Monica College Music Department will continue its Spring 2026 Friday Night Jazz Series with a performance by drummer Carl Allen on April 3.
The concert is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Music Hall inside the SMC Performing Arts Center, located at 1310 11th St. in Santa Monica.
Allen, a world-renowned jazz musician with more than 200 recordings, has performed with a wide range of artists, including Freddie Hubbard, Michael Brecker, Benny Golson, Jennifer Holliday and Sammy Davis Jr., as well as Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter and Branford Marsalis, among many others.
The series opened March 6 with saxophonist Bob Reynolds and is set to conclude May 1 with pianist and composer Theo Saunders.
Tickets are $10 for general admission, with free entry for students presenting a valid student ID. Tickets can be purchased online, by phone or at the box office beginning 45 minutes before the performance. Seating is first come, first served, and parking at the venue is free.
