IKEA Culver City announces opening dates in the historic Helms Design District

Gift cards and limited edition swag: IKEA Culver City details two-part launch.

IKEA comes to the Westside with the debut of a new 38,000-square-foot IKEA store in the Helms Design District, beginning with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, April 29.

The new Culver City location, a different kind of store for the Swedish retailer, situated at 3225 A Helms Ave., will kick off its soft opening at 10 a.m. with a ceremony featuring city officials and IKEA staff. To celebrate the opening, the store is offering a significant incentive for early arrivals: the first 100 IKEA Family members in line will each receive a $100 gift card. Membership is free, though customers must provide proof of a valid account to claim the reward.

Following the mid-week soft launch, the store will host a community-wide grand opening celebration on Saturday, May 2. Running from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the weekend event will feature live music, Swedish food tastings, and access to IKEA planning specialists. The first 500 attendees at the Saturday event will receive a limited-edition version of the retailer’s iconic blue FRAKTA bag.

Designed for urban living, the Helms District location focuses on space-saving solutions and home organization within a smaller footprint than the brand’s traditional suburban warehouses. No registration is required for either the soft opening or the grand opening festivities.
