Lane Closures, Parking Restrictions for SR-2 Project Through April 11

In West Los Angeles, crews will close up to one lane in both directions of Santa Monica Boulevard between Federal Avenue and Cotner Avenue during overnight hours

The California Department of Transportation announced lane closures and parking restrictions along State Route 2 in West Los Angeles and the Echo Park area as part of a multimodal pavement project.

Construction is scheduled to take place overnight from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday, beginning April 6 and continuing through April 10. Parking restrictions will be enforced շուրջ the clock from April 6 through April 11 to accommodate curb, gutter and sidewalk work. No construction is planned for Sunday, April 5.

In West Los Angeles, crews will close up to one lane in both directions of Santa Monica Boulevard between Federal Avenue and Cotner Avenue during overnight hours throughout the work week. Parking will be prohibited in both directions along that stretch during the construction period.

In Echo Park, work will affect Glendale Boulevard between Berkeley Avenue and Aaron Street. Up to two lanes in each direction will be closed overnight from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., while up to one lane in each direction will remain closed during daytime hours from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Parking will be restricted along both sides of the roadway in the affected area.

Officials said access to businesses will remain available during construction, although motorists should expect shoulder closures and limited parking along portions of the route. Advance signage will be posted to notify drivers of restrictions.

The $70.2 million project spans multiple segments of State Route 2, running from Centinela Avenue in Santa Monica to the route’s northern terminus in Echo Park. The work includes improvements along Santa Monica Boulevard in West Los Angeles and Hollywood, as well as along Alvarado Street and Glendale Boulevard near U.S. Highway 101.
