Santa Monica Selects 24 Arts Partners for Five Years of Community Events

The Producing Partner Program is a key piece of the city’s two-year Realignment Plan aimed at boosting economic vitality through expanded cultural programming.

The city of Santa Monica has chosen 24 arts and culture organizations as producing partners to create new public activations and help reimagine existing community events along its beachside waterfront.

The Producing Partner Program is a key piece of the city’s two-year Realignment Plan aimed at boosting economic vitality through expanded cultural programming. Officials said the initiative will build on a three-year large-scale events plan announced in late 2025 by adding community-focused activations over the next five years.

The partners were selected through a competitive request for proposals process launched in October 2025. A panel of experts in event production, public programming, community outreach and grantmaking reviewed 28 submissions before choosing a diverse group of regional producers spanning multiple genres and disciplines.

The agreements create a five-year eligibility list of qualified organizations that may be tapped for future city-sponsored activations and events.

Among the selected partners are Blue Note Entertainment Group, dublab, Los Angeles Nomadic Division (LAND), 18th Street Arts Center, Community Arts Resources, the Santa Monica Pier Corporation, McCabe’s, Revel Republic and Go As If Productions.

Several activations are already scheduled. On June 6, dublab will present the third annual Ocean of Sound, an evening of meditative and underwater listening at the historic pool of the Annenberg Community Beach House. Revel Republic will produce Golden Hour at the Third Street Promenade on June 12 as part of a series of World Cup-related public events.

Blue Note Entertainment Group is partnering on a Juneteenth musical event June 19 at the Miles Memorial Playhouse and Reed Park, featuring a free concert and artmaking activities. Go As If Productions will lead the 34th annual Juneteenth Celebration on June 20 at Virginia Avenue Park. Revel Republic is also behind COAST, an open-streets event across downtown Santa Monica on July 19.

McCabe’s will produce the return of Americana in the Park on Sept. 13 at Gandara Park. Additional activations at the Miles Memorial Playhouse and Reed Park are planned for August, September and October. In October, the Santa Monica Pier Corporation will present “Portrait Studio at the End of America,” a photography project by Sam Cohen, at the Annenberg Community Beach House gallery.

Event details are available on the city’s online calendar at santamonica.gov/events.

“Santa Monica is open for business, and these producing partnerships are proof of that,” Mayor Caroline Torosis said. “Through the Realignment Plan, we’re bringing in creative partners who will deliver fresh activations, grow our local economy and make sure our residents and visitors have more reasons to enjoy Santa Monica — from World Cup celebrations to neighborhood events all across the city.”
