Running for Friendship:

Julian Myers, 90-year-old Hollywood publicist and competitive runner, jogs Monday through Friday along the jetty in Marina del Rey; Saturdays he runs from north of the Santa Monica Pier along Ocean Front Walk to his office in the Marina.

Last month, Myers won two golds and four silvers in his age group (90-94) in the 22nd Huntsman World Senior Games in St. George, Utah – gold in 3000 meters and running long jump, and silver in javelin and 50, 200, and 800 meters.

He competes in the annual October events to popularize AmigoDay, a “global holiday” that he and his wife have founded and are promoting. “Just greet anyone anywhere, your way, any month’s first Sunday,” Myers says.

Myers plans to run 100 of the miles between San Diego and Los Angeles in the 10 days following his 100th birthday and is already warning his public relations clients that he will not be available for those 10 running days following February 22, 2018.
