In honor of Black History Month, SMC is proud to present Alephonsion Deng, one of the “Lost Boys of Darfur.” With his cousins Benson Deng and Benjamin Ajak, Deng co-authored They Poured Fire on Us From the Sky, an account of their five-year struggle to survive in a war-torn country. Deng will speak about his life, the genocide in Sudan, and the creation of his book.

Each month, the Brentwood Art Center displays art by its students, focusing on a particular discipline. This month focuses on the teen students (ages12-19) and their accomplishments in Drawing, Painting, Figure Drawing, Fashion Illustration, and Photography.
