Heroes One and All:

Los Angeles Veterans for Peace marked the 6yr Anniversary of the war in Iraq by setting up the Arlington West Memorial Saturday morning through Sunday evening, March 14 and15, with a candlelight vigil on Saturday evening. VFP and volunteers have created this temporary memorial every Sunday from sunrise to sunset just north of the Santa Monica pier since March 2004. More than a third of all the soldiers who have died in Iraq have had family and loved ones visit the memorial and leave mementoes that are displayed weekly. A sign at the memorial acknowledges the number of Iraqis killed. VFP welcomes volunteers for setup and take down at AW on Sundays.
