Samohi Boys Hoops Host ‘The Tournament’: Teams from Fresno, Sacramento and San Diego to compete against locals

High school boys basketball teams from Sacramento, Fresno and San Diego will join Santa Monica High School and a number of local teams at an event being simply dubbed “The Tournament” by Samohi’s veteran head coach James Hecht. The tournament begins Tuesday at Samohi’s gym and runs through Dec. 11. The schedule for the first round games is as follows:

Tuesday, Dec. 7:

3:30 p.m. – Eisenhower vs. Palisades

5:00 p.m. – Corona Centennial vs. Blair

6:30 p.m. – Cleveland vs. Compton

8:00 p.m. – Santa Monica vs. Serra (Gardena)

Wednesday, Dec. 8

3:30 p.m. – Windward vs. Crenshaw

5:00 p.m. – Lincoln (San Diego) vs. Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks)

6:30 p.m. – Sheldon (Sacramento) vs. Birmingham

8:00 p.m. – Bishop Montgomery vs. Central (Fresno)
