On Saturday, March 26, at 6:21 p.m. officers went to Sears, located at 302 Colorado Avenue, regarding a theft suspect who was in custody there. When they arrived they spoke with the loss prevention agent who told them what had happened.
Apparently, a woman had entered the business and removed some fragrance and walked to the jewelry department. The woman then grabbed a pair of earrings and walked to the women’s clothing section. The woman then placed the earrings in her pants pocket. The woman then proceeded to the second floor and removed the fragrance from its box and placed the fragrance in her jacket pocket. She then placed the empty box on a display shelf. The woman then left Sears without paying.
The loss prevention agent then placed her under citizen’s arrest and escorted her back into the store. The officers took custody of this 29-year-old Los Angeles woman and she was charged with theft. Her bail was set at $1,000.
