Fashion lovers united throughout Santa Monica last night for Fashion’s Night Out (FNO), as part of the global shopping phenomenon aimed at celebrating fashion and spurring consumer spending.
FNO events were celebrated at Third Street Promenade, Santa Monica Place, and Main Street.
Third Street Promenade turned into a trendy hotspot displaying some of the hottest current styles as Downtown Santa Monica, in conjunction with Fred Segal and Flaunt Magazine, hosted FNO activities and celebrations throughout the Promenade and Santa Monica Place.
With festivities kicking off just before sunset, the Promenade and Santa Monica Place were transformed into “an exciting fashion playground” featuring strong doses of fashion-themed events, all in the name of experiencing a “global shopping celebration.”
Fred Segal and Flaunt Magazine displayed some of the hottest fashion items for the fall.
More than that, Kirsten Segal of Fred Segal said FNO was also very much about sharing and celebrating as a community the newest trends for the upcoming fashion season.
Segal said FNO was “a night to celebrate the many designers, retailers, and brands that make up the fashion industry.”
“As an iconic fashion destination on the West Coast, Fred Segal Santa Monica is the place to celebrate the style-centric, world-wide shopping extravaganza,” Segal said.
She said the store took a unique approach to this celebration by hosting its own ‘block party’ for all who love fashion and wanted to experience the essence of Fred Segal Santa Monica.
That block party took the form of a five-hour event, as FNO also offered “a place to stroll, shop, and sip a glass of wine,” all while Downtown Santa Monica boasted fashion events, exclusive discounts, and contests for shoppers throughout the Promenade and Santa Monica Place.
On the entertainment side, FNO celebrations featured live DJs, champagne, and refreshments, among other activities.
Segal said the entire ambiance and atmosphere of Fashion Night Out was meant to be memorable as it was completely different from the typical shopping experience.
Meanwhile on Main Street, Fashion’s Night Out was celebrated with Fashion Crawl from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Boutiques and businesses celebrated with parties, discounts, DJ’s, runway shows, styling contests, plus much more.
