The Santa Monica College Music Department is pleased to present “Fall Jazz Concerts,” featuring Eric Person Quintet, Jon Mayer Quartet and Gilbert Castellaños Quartet.
The series begins with Eric Person Quintet on Friday, Sept. 30. All concerts are held at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. at The Edye Second Space at the Santa Monica College Performing Arts Center, located on Santa Monica Boulevard at 11th Street.
The lineup is:
• Friday, Sept. 30: Eric Person Quintet. Coming to the West from the New York and international jazz scene, Person continues to set a new standard in sound, playing with a rhythmic edge.
• Friday, Oct. 21: Jon Mayer Quartet. The playful and superbly innovative bebop-based pianist brings his quartet and its delectable sounds to the SMC stage.
• Friday, Nov. 18: Gilbert Castellaños Quintet. The inventive jazz improvisations of trumpet virtuoso Castellaños and his Latin quintet are always a treat.
