‘Health, Wellness and Pursuit of Happiness’ SMC Juried Student Show Starts Saturday:

The highly regarded Santa Monica Photography Department will present a student juried show called “Health, Wellness & the Pursuit of Happiness” starting Saturday.

The exhibit runs Nov. 5-Dec. 2 in the SMC Photo Gallery, located on the second floor of Drescher Hall on the main SMC campus, 1900 Pico Blvd.

A total of 75 images and two short movies were selected from 500 submissions to be included in the exhibit.

The show is part of a vigorous campuswide global citizenship initiative, which has been in place for several years and is gaining momentum, partly through the adoption of annual themes.

Global citizenship in general – and frequently the annual theme in particular – are incorporated into many courses and activities, including visual and performing arts, lecture series, film series and more.

An opening reception will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5. Photo Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.

For further information, call 310.434.4289 or go to http://www2.smc.edu/photo/events_newsletter/events.html.
