Santa Monica BBQ Areas At Parks Can Now Be Reserved In Advance:

BBQ areas at Santa Monica Airport, Clover, and Marine Parks for groups of less than 150 people can now be reserved in advance.

The permit entitles you to four-hour block of time, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Requests can be made from three to 21 days in advance with proof of Santa Monica residency ($50) and from 3 to 14 days in advance without proof of Santa Monica residency ($75).

Tables are marked and a calendar is posted showing the days that are reserved. If not reserved, the area is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Available areas:

· Airport Park ( 3201 Airport Avenue): One large grill, six picnic tables

· Clover Park (2600 Ocean Park Blvd.): Three large grills, eight picnic tables

· Marine Park (1406 Marine Avenue): Four small grills, four large picnic tables

Plan a fun BBQ but remember that alcohol, smoking, vending, inflatable bouncers, and outside grills are not allowed in Santa Monica parks.

Groups of 150 or more require an Event Permit.

To reserve your area, visit the Community Recreation office at Clover Park or call 310.458.8573.
