Santa Monica Kindergarten Information Night Tonight At Virginia Avenue Park:

The Santa Monica Child Care and Early Education Task Force presents a Kindergarten Information Night tonight, Oct. 23 for parents of children entering kindergarten.

The program will take place at 6:30 p.m., in the Thelma Terry Center at Virginia Avenue Park, 2200 Virginia Avenue.

The program includes presentations by Steve Richardson, Principal at Will Rogers Learning Community, Sofia Cedillo, kindergarten teacher from Will Rogers and Candis Berens from SMASH on kindergarten readiness issues from the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District (SMMUSD) perspective.

Joining the SMMUSD team will be Nora Daley, Early Intervention Preschool Site Coordinator for Family Service of Santa Monica who will present on social – emotional readiness and Gillian Wiener, Director of Gillybean Playschool on Transitioning to Kindergarten.

Representatives from local programs will be available to discuss different after-school options.

Light refreshments will be served and child care available.

Kindergarten Information Night is presented free to the public and is open to all.

The Thelma Terry Center is wheelchair accessible.
