Flair Cleaners Launch 10th Annual Holiday Clothing Drive Through December 31:

Flair Cleaners has begun its 10th annual holiday clothing drive that will run through Dec. 31.

Anyone with clothing who would like to donate items are encouraged to stop by one of Flair Cleaners’ five locations in Santa Monica, Studio City, Valencia, Burbank, and Redondo Beach.

The Santa Monica location is at 720 Montana Avenue (between 7th and Lincoln).

Large, festive donation boxes will be in the lobby of each store.

Owner Gary Futterman said his employees and customers were very enthusiastic about the program.

“Since we started the clothing drive 10 years ago, our customers have really gotten into the spirit of giving, and each year more and more clothing is brought in,” Futterman said. “Everyone is welcome to drop off items to share — the more the merrier.”

The Flair team members empty the boxes as they fill up into additional containers at each location, and the clothes are collected regularly throughout the entire program.

A tally is kept by each manager, as all Flair staffers are keeping score, hoping to exceed previous years’ gifts of over 6,000 garments.

Flair associates will provide receipts for those who would like to receive a tax deduction for their items.

Charities benefitting from the collection this year include the National Council of Jewish Women, Thrift Shop, the Disabled American Veterans, St. Vincent de Paul’s Thrift Store, and Helping Hands for the Blind.
