The 2005 AIDS/LifeCycle ride came to a triumphant conclusion Saturday afternoon, as participants arrived on the VA grounds in Westwood Saturday afternoon.Over 2,000 cyclists made the seven-day, 585-mile ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles, and raised $6.8 million from 50,000 sponsors to fund a variety of services for people with AIDS. An estimated 850,00 to 950,000 people are currently living with AIDS/HIV in the U.S., while an estimated 39.4 million people around the world carry the virus. 3.2 million people died of AIDS last year.
