Zanzibar To Host A Night Of Avant-Garde Fashion This Wednesday:

A unique evening of avant-garde fashion and music will be held at Zanzibar in Santa Monica this Wednesday, January 9.

The event is being put together by local businesses Lu Fam Pro Productions and Immaculate Perceptions.

Both businesses consider themselves a part of the new movement toward deeper consciousness in art and commerce.

“We want to infuse the multimedia experience that is Luminous Wednesdays at Zanzibar with another expression: namely fashion,” said show curator Ashley David, who is creative director of Immaculate Perceptions.

David hand selected all of the local and regional designers participating in the fashion show and collaborated with her friend, owner of Venice-based Lu Fam Pro, and hip-hop artist J Brave, on the music.

She said the night intended to bring together local and regional independent designers, artists, musicians, and businesses to support each other and celebrate their mutual commitment to being socially, spiritually and environmentally responsible in their business practices.

J Brave will be performing as well as local acts Jillian Anne and Electric Dandelion.

Lu Fam Pro is a multi-faceted event production company founded by J Brave and the other members of the enlightened hip-hop act the Luminaries. They produce the music gathering called “Luminous Movement” every Wednesday evening at Zanzibar. It fuses an eclectic range of live performers, DJs, producers, painters, massage therapists, digital artists, and dancers from the Los Angeles area.

Immaculate Perceptions and stylist Ashley David are a full-service fashion consultancy. Zanzibar is located at 1301 5th Street, Santa Monica. Tickets to the event are $10.
