Mothers Opposed To Mayhem To Host Gun Law Vigil In Santa Monica Sunday:

Mothers, grandmothers, and any other family members who seek change in gun laws are encouraged to take part in a “change gun laws” vigil at Palisades Park in Santa Monica this Sunday.

Mothers Opposed to Mayhem (MOM) will host the one-hour vigil in memory of the children lost to gun violence, and in support of their mothers, grandmothers, and other family members.

It will be held at Palisades Park at the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Ocean Avenue from noon to 1 pm.

MOM was formed in the wake of the gun violence that killed 20 children at Sandy Hook in Connecticut. Its mission is to end the killing of our children by high-powered, semi-automatic weapons that use high-capacity ammunition magazines.

The Santa Monica event will be is one of several vigils initiated by MOM that are being held across the country on March 10.

Organizers say the vigil is a “simple, one-time effort to mobilize with other established organizations that have been marching over these past several weeks for the same cause – rational changes in gun laws.”
