Pacific Park Phone Thief Arrested After Targeting Employee: Alert Police Blotter: Parklife.

On Saturday, Feb. 23, at 8:30 am officers of the Santa Monica Police Department were called out to Pacific Park, located on the Santa Monica bluffs after they had heard about a theft that had taken place in the Pacific Park front office.

When the officers arrived they were directed towards an individual who had run to the south bike path after allegedly committing the theft from the office.

The suspect was detained without incident.

Officers then spoke to the victim, who is a female Pacific Park employee.

This employee told the officers that she had arrived for work earlier that day and had been sitting in the front office with her cell phone positioned upon the desk in front of her.

She said that the female suspect had entered the front office and had begun pacing up and down.

This woman then suddenly reached over the victim and grabbed the cell phone.

The employee had then stood up and confronted the suspect about the theft, but the suspect had denied any knowledge of this cell phone’s whereabouts.

At that point security personnel arrived and the suspect ran away, and as she was doing so, had discarded the cell phone, as it was not found upon her person when the officers subsequently searched her.

The officers arrested this 43-year-old woman (of unknown address at the time of writing), and she was charged with petty theft, with bail being set at $1,000.
