At Veterans for Peace Arlington West Memorial field of crosses on Sunday and Monday, the names of the Americans soldiers who have been killed in Iraq were read every hour on Sunday from 1 p.m. to sunset and every hour on Monday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. On Sunday afternoon, bugler Jeff Key, a former Marine, played Taps, and candles were placed at each of the 1745 crosses.
