A 27-year-old homeless woman was arrested Tuesday, April 16 after assaulting two people in a random attack on Olympic Boulevard.
At 7 pm officers of the Santa Monica Police Department were called out to the 500 block of Olympic Boulevard in order to investigate the report of battery.
When officers arrived they spoke with a pair of victims, as well as the female suspect.
The officers learned that the victims (numbers one and two) were walking along the 500 block of Olympic Boulevard when the suspect approached them and ordered them to leave the area forthwith (this suspect did not have any legal authority to demand such a thing).
Victim number two told the suspect that they did not intend to comply with said request, and at that the suspect began to punch victim number one around the face and head.
In response to this assault, victim number two attempted to intervene, and he was rewarded for this effort by a slap in the face from the suspect.
Victim number one sustained facial cuts and was taken to a local hospital for observation due to a pre-existing medical condition.
The officers arrested this woman and charged her with battery on a person.
Bail was set at $20,000.
