Cops Arrest Man For Assaulting Ex-Fiancé; Found Hiding In Mom’s House:

Santa Monica police arrested a 37-year-old man on Wednesday, Jan. 15 for assaulting his ex-fiancé and fleeing. He was found hiding in his bedroom of his mom’s house where he still lived.

Officers of the Santa Monica Police Department were called out to a residence in the 2600 block of Broadway Avenue at 7 am on this day in order to investigate a domestic violence incident.

Upon arrival the officers spoke with the victim who told them that she and her daughter had been at home when her ex-fiancé broke into the residence.

She said this man had grabbed her by the throat, pushed her against a wall whereupon she had fallen down and the ex-fiancé had proceeded to pick her up by her throat.

The man then let her go, but suddenly pushed her against a kitchen table. The victim said that at that point she had been able to run out of the back door and summon assistance.

The ex-fiancé had at that point fled the scene.

The officers obtained an emergency protective order for the victim and in concert with Santa Monica Police Department detectives, identified the suspect and traveled to the house belonging to the mother of the suspect after discovering that this man still lived with his mom.

The officers, upon arriving at the mother’s house discovered that the suspect was hiding in his bedroom and wouldn’t come out.

After some coaxing from a family member the man exited and was arrested.

This man charged with spousal abuse and bail was set at $50,000.
