New Website Helps Parents Find Local Summer Activities For Children:

With the summer season coming up, parents will be inevitably facing a search for productive activities for their children. A convenient medium has emerged thanks to a couple of Santa Monica entrepreneurs who have come up with a way to assist in the search for youth summertime activities.

Little Quest, a website aimed specifically at finding and researching local classes, camps, and activities for children under the age of 18, launched earlier last month.

Its objective is to provide options for productive activities and events to fill kids’ free time with. This family-friendly tool is ideal for parents looking to set summer schedules for their children.

The concept of Little Quest actually developed when one of the founders’ friends had some difficulty in trying to find summertime activities for their children.

This common challenge developed into the creation of this innovative website.

Co-founder Adam Carney said the company was all about helping youth find their passions at a young age.

“I think it’s a really interesting and often overlooked problem,” Carney said. “I found entrepreneurship when I was young. My mom was an entrepreneur and she hired me to fold boxes for her bakery, and I’ve been doing it ever since. It’s funny to think how such a small event when I was young impacted my life now.”

Carney said there was an estimated 74 million youth in the United States.

“We estimate that about 50 million of those are involved in structured programs,” he said. “It’s a stretch to say we’re changing the world here, but this is an important issue that we want to shine light on.”

In the grand scheme of things, Little Quest’s mission is to help children find their interests and passions at young ages. This early onset of discovery and experimentation will naturally help in identity and character development as well.

As of now, the website can be used in a limited number of cities, including Boulder, Colorado; Austin, Texas; Chicago, Illinois; and of course, Southern California. Parents from Santa Barbara to San Diego as well as the Valley and Orange County suburbs can utilize this tool.

However, the website for specifically overnight camps is available to anyone in the nation. By next year Little Quest will have made the full function of this website available to the entire country.

Camps, programs, and other businesses can create and edit their own listings by logging on to Little Quest’s official website. Parents and their children can also go online to reserve spots within certain programs or leave reviews of their experiences.
