Someone has slashed the tires of an estimated 82 vehicles in the Ocean Park neighborhood of Santa Monica, it was reported by at least three local television news outlets.
ABC7 reports no arrests have yet been made but Santa Monica police suspect the culprit could be a transient.
The number of vehicles targeted by the culprit was reported by KCAL.
According to KTLA, the culprit reportedly engaged in an argument with employees at ZJ Boarding House, a surf store, and targeted one of their vehicles before continuing to slash the tires of dozens more.
Also according to ABC7, police – who are reportedly reviewing surveillance video in the area – describe the suspect at white, 18 to 24 years in age, and male.
