Learn more on Henry Miller’s literary career and storied life at Santa Monica Public Library on Wednesday.

Santa Monica Public Library welcomes author Arthur Hoyle for a presentation on legendary American author Henry Miller this Wednesday, June 25.

It will be held at 7 pm at the Main Library’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Auditorium, 601 Santa Monica Boulevard.

Hoyle is the author of the new book “The Unknown Henry Miller: A Seeker in Big Sur,” which Miller’s son Tony has praised as “the best book ever written about my father.”

In his presentation at the library Hoyle will provide an overview of Henry Miller’s literary career and storied life, and shows how they are reflected in his fiction.

He also discusses Miller’s long battle with the censorship of his work, including his breakout novel “Tropic of Cancer,” which was published in Paris, but was banned for decades in the United States and Great Britain.

A book sale and signing follows the author’s talk.

Hoyle is a writer, educator, and independent filmmaker. He is at work on his second book, a profile of forgotten or controversial American men and women who made significant contributions to American history and culture.

This program is free and all ages are welcome.

Space is limited and on a first-arrival basis.

This is an event of The Living Room … a place for adults program series.
