Miley Cyrus won the top award, Beyonce won three awards and newcomer 5 Seconds of Summer took home two at Sunday’s 2014 MTV Video Music Awards ceremony, held at the Forum in Inglewood.
Cyrus won video of the year for “Wrecking Ball.”
Beyonce won best collaboration for “Drunk In Love,” featuring her husband, Jay Z; and best video with a social message and best cinematography for “Pretty Hurts.” She received eight VMA nominations.
5 Seconds of Summer won for artist to watch and best lyric video for “Don’t Stop.”
Usher, Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, Maroon 5, Taylor Swift, Sam Smith and 5 Seconds of Summer performed at the show.
