A motorcyclist was killed today in a crash on the westbound Santa Monica (10) Freeway in Santa Monica, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The crash occurred shortly before 6 a.m. at the McClure Tunnel, said CHP Officer Francisco Villalobos. The motorcyclist, described only as a male, died at a hospital, Villalobos said. Hs name was not immediately released.
According to the preliminary investigation, the crash involved a motorcycle and three other vehicles, Villalobos said.
The westbound freeway was closed in the area while an investigation was conducted, and the closure was expected to continue through noon, Villalobos said.
