Santa Monica CityTV To Air “Council Candidates Live!” Tonight At 7 pm:

The League of Women Voters of Santa Monica Education Fund (LWVSMEF) in partnership with CityTV of Santa Monica will air “Council Candidates Live!” with Round One to air today, Oct. 20 and Round Two airing on Oct. 27 at 7  pm on CityTV.

The program can be seen on cable channel 16,  on digital broadcast channel 20.2, as well as on-line at citytv.org or at smgov.net/citytvlive for mobile devices.

“Council Candidates Live!” is a series of two Santa Monica City Council Candidate Forums, moderated by CityTV host, Sandy Jacobson.

Groups of three to four candidates will answer questions, and interact with each other in a roundtable format discussion.

In addition, viewers are invited to interact and share their opinions by texting in their responses to some of the questions that are being asked of the candidates. The results of the poll will be shown live.

Questions have also been compiled and videotaped in advance from a variety of Santa Monica organizations and community leaders.

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization which encourages informed and active participation in government.

The League does not endorse either political parties or candidates running for office but seeks to influence public policy through education and advocacy.

CityTV is the government access cable channel for the City of Santa Monica. The channel airs live public meeting coverage, local news and local event coverage.

The channel is celebrating its 25th year and has been honored with numerous national and local awards, including thirteen local Emmy Awards.
