The Ruskin Group Theatre will open a new exhibit, “Floating Flowers” by New York artist Deanne Lemle Bosnak, at a reception from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, November 19, at the theater at 3000 Airport Drive at Santa Monica Airport.
“Compositionally, Bosnak’s paintings recall the rich floral abstractions of Georgia O’Keefe, but she makes this style her own by adding a unique textured brush stroke,” said Amelia Mulkey, gallery curator. “The many tiny strokes of thick paint Bosnak employs to construct her forms enhance the sense of flow and peace within each composition. Her paintings will literally calm your soul.”
The show consists of pieces done over the last 20 years by Bosnak, whose work has been exhibited throughout the world and is in private collections in the U.S., Holland, Switzerland, Russia, England and Australia.Hours of the exhibit are 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. daily. The exhibit will hang until December 30.
