Santa Monica Student Poster Contest Awards Announced:

The City of Santa Monica's Office of Sustainability and Sustainable Works has named the winners and participants in this year's Sustainable Santa Monica Student Poster Contest.

The City of Santa Monica’s Office of Sustainability and the Environment along with Sustainable Works has congratulated the winners and participants in the 7th Annual Sustainable Santa Monica Student Poster Contest. 

This year’s theme “Do More to Use Less”, gave students the opportunity to use art to express their ideas about water conservation in order to raise awareness about the drought and encourage the community to cut their water use by 20 percent. replica watches The contest was open to all kindergarten through 12th grade students who live and/or attend school in Santa Monica.

“The annual poster contest is a unique opportunity for our students to learn about the programs and policies that support a sustainable future for Santa Monica,” said Shannon Parry with the Office of Sustainability and the Environment. “We appreciate the opportunity to engage these young leaders on important sustainability issues and water is front and center on all of our minds.” 

This year there were a record 35 in class presentations, reaching more than 750 students and resulting in over 360 poster submissions.

The judges were impressed by the myriad of inspiring solutions artistically illustrated by students of all ages. The City of Santa Monica’s Office of Sustainability and the Environment and Sustainable Works are pleased to announce the winners in four categories.
