Anaheim Ducks To Conduct Hockey Fights Cancer Night At Tonight’s Game:

The Anaheim Ducks will conduct Hockey Fights Cancer Night at today’s game against the Minnesota Wild, part of a monthlong league-wide initiative to raise awareness and funds for organizations involved in cancer care and research.

The first 3,000 fans entering Honda Center will receive lavender Hockey Fights Cancer ribbons to wear for the game. Ducks players will have lavender Hockey Fights Cancer decals on their helmets throughout the month. Ducks coaches, broadcasters and executives will wear lavender Hockey Fights Cancer ties.

An online auction of game-used, player-autographed hockey sticks wrapped in lavender tape will be held at AnaheimDucks.com/auction.

The Anaheim Ducks Foundation will sell limited-edition Ducks player- autographed Hockey Fights Cancer mini sticks in support of Loma Linda University Cancer Center. The sticks are priced at $20 and will be sold in the Hockey Spot beginning at 3 p.m.

Lavender is the color representing awareness for all types of cancer.

A moment of recognition will be held for loved ones affected by cancer. Fans will have the opportunity to fill out “I Fight For” cards to identify those loved ones. The cards will be available at the south entrance and the main concourse.

The Hockey Fights Cancer initiative was founded in December 1998 by the NHL and National Hockey League Players Association.

More than $12.8 million has been raised to support national and local cancer research institutions, children’s hospitals, player charities and local cancer organizations in the United States and Canada.
