Walk to Africa Event: Fundraising in Santa Monica:

Walk To Africa raises money to send doctors and volunteers on short-term medical relief trips, build schools, clean water projects, establish vocational schools and restore thousand of lives.

Event Details

Date: May 14, 2016, Crescent Bay Park is the Start and End for Walk To Africa. Registration begins at 7.30am.

Kids Route

Begin by strolling on the beautiful two-mile course along the beach, up the Santa Monica Pier and onto Palisades Park. Turn left or head north along the bluffs and stop at Wilshire Blvd, and the statue of St. Monica.  Make a circle around the statue – a volunteer will be there to help you – and retrace your walk back down the Pier and along Ocean Front walk to Crescent Bay Park!  You have now completed the 2-mile Children’s Walk To Africa!

Adult 8-Mile Route

Set in beautiful Santa Monica on the Pacific Ocean. The starting point is at Crescent Bay Park for the first two mile leg along Ocean Front Walk, up the Santa Monica Pier and walk along Palisades Park to The Gambia Water Relief Station #1 at the intersection of San Vicente and Ocean Avenue.

Continue on the route east on San Vincent Avenue.  Walk the second leg to 25th Street. Here you will find the Guinea Bissau Water Relief Station #2. After a brief pause for rest and refreshment, push on to Montana Avenue & Lincoln Blvd. for the last Tanzania Water Relief Station #3.  Continue on Montana all the way back to Ocean Avenue and Palisades Park.  Retrace your steps to the Santa Monica Pier, then return on Ocean Front Walk back to Crescent Bay Park!  Be sure to get your final Passport Stamp at Sierra Leone Water Relief Station #4.
