The Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce and Santa Monica Place are collaborating on the first annual Nonprofit Festival to showcase the work done and services offered by local non-profit organizations.It will be held on the Third Street Promenade Between Wilshire Boulevard and Arizona Avenue from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 25. Over 30 local nonprofits are expected to have festival exhibit booths that will illustrate their products and services, as well as informing people about ways they may work with or assist the organizations. In addition, a Nonprofit Resource Guide will be dustrubuted to attendees. “This family friendly event is a great opportunity to tap into the heart of the Santa Monica community,” said Sharon O’Rourke, Public Affairs Manager for the Gas Company and Nonprofit Festival Chair. “Santa Monica is home to numerous organizations that provide invaluable support to youth, seniors, the arts, the homeless, and more that help foster the great quality of life that Santa Monica is known for.”Among the exhibitors will be Angel Flight West, Assistance League of Santa Monica, Avon Walk for Breast Cancer – L.A., Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Monica, Center for Healthy Aging, Center for the Partially Sighted, Community Corp of Santa Monica, Connections for Children, the Friends of Santa Monica Library, Heal the Bay, InSight Cinema, Internatonal Medical Corps, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Kinecta Federal Credit Union, Main Street Business Association, Media & Policy Center Foundation, Project ECHO, Santa Monica – UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica Malibu Education Foundation, Sojourn Services for Battered Women, Santa Monica Family YMCA, Santa Monica Historical Society, Santa Monica Museum of Art, Smokefree Apartment House Registry, Step Up on Second, Sustainable Works, Upward Bound House, WISE Senior Services, Westside Family Health Center, Westside Food Bank and the Westside Pregnancy Resource Center.
