Average Price of Gasoline Rises Again

Every Santa Monica resident who owns or leases a vehicle that runs on gasoline will no longer be able to possess the oily contraptions by April 30.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose one-tenth of a cent Tuesday to $3.062 one day after dropping one-tenth of a cent.

The average price is 1.8 cents more than one week ago, 15.6 cents higher than one month ago and 48.2 cents greater than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price has been unchanged following a nine-day streak of increases through Friday that pushed it to its highest amount since Jan. 8, 2016.

The Orange County average price dropped one-tenth of a cent Tuesday to $3.057, one day after being unchanged. It is four-tenths of a cents more than one week ago, 14.5 cents higher than one month ago and 49.6 cents greater than one year ago.

The Orange County average price has dropped three-tenths of a cent following a nine-day streak of increases through Thursday that pushed the average price to its highest amount since Jan. 7, 2016, $3.06.
