Meet the New Assistant League Board

The Assistance League of Santa Monica held its Annual Board Installation Luncheon Wednesday at the Bel Air Bay Club.

The Board of Directors for 2017-2018 are Barbara Parker, Mary Clark, Gaye Saxon, Linda Avdul, Jeannine Richards, Gina Peled, Thelma Orosco, Gloria Fowler, and Bonnie Butler.

The Assistance League of Santa Monica, established in 1937 and now in its 80th year, is a non-profit organization made up of member-volunteers that assist the children and families in the Santa Monica bay area through a number of philanthropic programs.

Its programs include backpacks with school supplies, camp scholarships, college scholarships, emergency school clothing, puppet shows on bullying and divorce, and vision and dental care.

Programs are funded through donations and sales from its Thrift Shop at 1453 15th Street in Santa Monica, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., M, T, TH, F, Sat. For more information, visit AssistanceLeague.org/Santa-Monica.com.
