(top) About 1,000 of Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District’s top musicians from elementary through high school took part in the Stairway of the Stars concert at the Santa Monica Civic on March 17.
Producer/Writer/Director Paul Haggis, who won Best Picture at the 2006 Academy Awards for his film “Crash”, made a guest appearance on behalf of For The Arts at the 57th Annual “Stairway of the Stars” at the Santa Monica Civic on March 17. Haggis is a founding member and current steering committee member of For The Arts. He spoke about the importance of arts education in our public schools.
