The honors keep rolling in for Christine Foley.
Last season Foley was named an all-CIF catcher. Now she has been named Most Valuable Player in the Ocean League.
Foley had a remarkable batting average of .575 and hit five home runs.
Pitcher Hannah Rose-Peters was named Ocean League co-Most Outstanding Player, sharing the award with another pitcher, Porsche Boddicker of Culver City.
Peters had a 13-5 record and batted .435.
Foley was a senior and Peters a junior.
Three other members of Coach Debbie Skaggs’ squad were chosen on the all-Ocean League first team, first baseman Saria Fazio and outfielders Jackie Kay and Dana Sigman.
Chosen to the all-league second team were centerfielder Lana Bowie and shortstop Yareth Guzman.
Santa Monica went undefeated in the Ocean League for the second straight season and scored one of the biggest wins in school victory by erasing a 6-0 deficit to carve out a 7-6 win over defending division champion Millikan High of Long Beach in the first round of the CIF playoffs.
Samohi then lost to Oaks Christian, 3-0. In the division championship game, Oaks Christian lost to Cajon of San Bernardino, 2-1.
Samohi’s record was 21-6.
