Mistakes Hurt Brentwood in Loss to Paraclete:

Brentwood football coach Patrick Brown knew it was going to be an extremely difficult task. He was right.

But it was even worse than Brown expected because his team turned the ball over six times in a non-league 45-14 loss to Paraclete Friday night at Quartz Hills High, evening the Eagles’ record at 2-2.

“We were our own worst enemy,” said Brown. “We had trouble adjusting to the speed of the game. We have to figure that out. We can do it.”

Brentwood was behind, 3-0. Then it went ahead, 6-3, and intercepted a pass.

However, Brentwood turned the ball over on its next three possessions, and the rout was on.

“With the opportunities they had, they kept gaining confidence,” Brown said. “For us it was a frustrating night.”

Brentwood will be home Saturday afternoon at 2 against Pasadena Poly, another highly regarded non-league opponent.
